Falcons baseball face Kellam, senior night

What Happened: The Falcon boy’s baseball team faced rival Kellam High School (KHS) on senior night this past Monday. It proved to be an emotional night for a senior class that has taken this team to the next level. Both teams kept close scores throughout innings, but it was the final ‘at-bat’ that solidified a home team win.

The Falcons look to carry this momentum into the postseason and to play in their 23rd game, finishing “Mission XXIII”. Completing this “Mission” will earn the team a state bid.

COX – 5 KELLAM – 4

Key Player: Senior South Trimble hit a two-run home run to get things started, while his younger brother, sophomore Fenwick Trimble bunted to bring in theĀ  game-winning run.

They Said It: “We feel very confident in our abilities and our preparation for the postseason. We finished 16-4 in the regular season so we hope to carry that momentum deep into the playoffs,” S. Trimble said.

Up Next: The Falcons take on the Wolverines of Woodside High School this Friday night , May 24, at home. The game begins at 5 p.m.
