The Falcon Girls’ Tennis team’s first scrimmage of the season was a clean sweep against Suffolk’s Lakeland High School last week, 6-0 singles and 6-0 doubles, as they come off from being last year’s 5A State Finalists.
The Lady Falcons defeated the 5B state finalist from last year, Maury, 9-0, and Landstown, 9-0. This win improved their record to 3-0. Seniors Ava Rassool, Lola Harris, Leila Remias, and Cecillia Nardelli. won in dominating fashion. Sophomores Valentine Renou, and Marlee Okoh also had an impressive singles showing.
¨It was a great start to the season and to see the new talent in the starting six. We are all hoping for a state championship this year,” first seed Ava Rassool said.
The team then went on to beat the Marlins of Basyide High School earlier this week.
