After a tough loss in the first game against Landstown, the Falcons picked up their first win of the season, defeating Bayside Marlins 68-53.
Falcon captains senior Owen Jones and junior Nate Lessley stepped up offensively, combining for 18 points and having strong second-half performances to pull away in the fourth quarter. Dual-sport sensation sophomore Marc Watkins scored 16 points and was the key piece in the Falcons’ success in the paint.
Senior Jacob Palmerton, who used his strong leadership skills as a varsity football captain, has become a vocal presence on the court, keeping the team focused.
“I am very optimistic about this season. We have a great senior crew, a bunch of leaders, and as a core, we play for the team, not for ourselves,” Palmerton said.
