What Happened: The Falcons Swim & Dive team competed against rival First Colonial (F.C.) Patriots at the Great Neck Recreation Center on Friday Jan. 25. This meet marked the annual senior swim night for the Falcons. The team said goodbye to many of their upper class senior swimmers including:  Abby Frey, Jerry Jones, and Kyle Demers. After a long night in the pool, the Falcons ended with a win for the boys and a unfortunate loss for the girls.

BOYS: COX –  158      FC – 141

GIRLS: COX – 111      FC – 189

Key Player: Senior Kyle Demers led the Falcons, swimming in the 100 breast stroke (BR) and a 200 Individual Medley (Breast, Back, and Fly). Also, sophomore Matt Brown was able to score big points for the Falcons in his final dive event.

They Said It: “Cox girls fought well against F.C.’s heavy hitting girls team. While the Cox boys worked to grab the lead early and held onto it in the specific stroke events,” Head Coach Pierce said.

Key Moment: The Falcon boys were able to come together and push through the night to defeat rival F.C. The boys came out winning their events and were able to take the lead and finish with a big gap.

Up Next: The Falcons finished off their season last Friday night. Both the coaches and the rest of the team plan to work hard in the off season to prepare for the next year.
