FALCON TRACK RUNNERS waiting in between their races. The meet was held on Thursday, January 10th at Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton.

The Falcon indoor track runners competed in their mid-season meet on Thursday.  The team dominated in their second meet of the season with stellar performances in every event.

What happened:The second meet of the season took place at Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, VA, on Thursday, January 10th, against a few Beach District schools including Landstown, Bayside, First Colonial, Kellam, Tallwood, Kempsville, and Salem High Schools.
Key Players:The Falcons all showed outstanding performances. Sophomores Morgan McKinley and Ariana Coats both placed in the top 3 overall in their events. McKinley placed third in 1000m run and Coats placed second in the 3200m. Junior Keontae Jenkins won the 55m and 300m as well as finishing second in the long jump.
They said it: “[This] meet was important for the whole team. Many members of the team had to run multiple events in order to put in times for regionals. Also many people were able to try new events. Overall, I think our team was happy with their performance. We all put forth our best effort and made great times to beat the future,” McKinley said.
Key moments: The Lady Falcons’ 4×8 relay team, consisting of sophomores Caitlin Sullivan, Coats, McKinley, and junior Bailey Deaver, won the girls’ race and finished close behind the boys’ 4×8 teams.

Up next: The last regular season meet will be held on Thursday, January 31, at Boo Williams Sportsplex at 3 p.m. All postseason meets will take place in February.
