Falcons football finishes regular season, prepare for playoffs

Falcons varsity football finished their regular season with a 7-2 record, and are now preparing themselves for the playoffs at home on Friday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. The team must win in order to secure a spot in the second round of the VHSL 6A playoffs.

With a win over the #6 Landstown (6-4) Eagles last Friday night, the Falcons secured a #4 playoff seed and will face off against #5 Bayside (6-4) Marlins tomorrow night.

The Falcons beat the Bayside Marlins 49-28 in the first game of the regular season. This second match up will be a rubber match between the two rivals, with stakes higher than ever.

“I believe that our team needs to keep the same intensity we had in the beginning of season when we first beat them. I know that for both myself and the entire team, we all were pretty worked up about our loss against the Marlins last year,” senior captain Jackson Morgan said. “I know, and I have confidence in our team, that we will beat the Marlins again for the second time in a row this year.”

The Falcons will have to overcome the Marlins, in order to secure a spot in the second round of the VHSL 6A playoffs.
