Boy’s basketball looks to ‘best in beach’

Following a recent 64-49 win over First Colonial High School (FC), the boys varsity basketball team improves their season record to 15-3 and 11-2 in district play.

In the rivalry matchup against the Patriots, the Falcons were led by senior Keshawn Lewis with 11 rebounds and 6 assists, juniors Kavon James with 25 points and Tayvion Robinson with 19 points, and sophomore Jordan Lewis with 12 points, 7 assists, and 4 steals.

The team has bested many of the district’s top teams, including Princess Anne High School, Kellam High School, and a split match up against Group 6A state semifinalist Landstown High School.

“No matter what FC threw we had a response. We fought to match everything they did. They would tie the score, but we would hit them right back,” Assistant Coach Travis Elliott said.

Head Coach Bobby Wolfe has coached the varsity boys for the last 21 years and is looking to make an a first time appearance in the upcoming regional tournament which begins Friday, Feb. 16.

“Its all due to hard work and success,” Wolfe said. “This year’s team has strong leadership and the guys are driven to work as a team rather than as individuals.”
