THE BOYS BASKETBALL team play a lock up defense against the Cavaliers of Princess Anne.

Falcon Boys basketball defeated Booker T. Washington High School at home this past Wednesday in a heated, intense game, from controversial calls to multiple key players in early foul trouble.  Then, guard Jordan Lewis was pushed into the scorekeepers table, spectators went ballistic, resulting in many getting thrown out of the game.

Despite numerous distractions, the Falcons came out on top to beat Booker T. Washington 44-42 with late game heroics by Scotty Carter and Kavon James. Carter nailed two free-throws, putting the Falcons ahead, while a layup by James sealed the deal for the home team.

The Falcon’s win over the Fighting Bookers pushed the team’s undefeated record to 5-0 so far this season. This start has been a result of the

Senior guard KeShawn Lewis credits the strong start to constant hard work and dedication the boys are putting in each and every day at practice, as well as the team’s resiliency in the face of adversity.

“So far this year we’ve overcome multiple obstacles, but through it all we stuck together and did what we had to do to win the game,” Lewis said.

The team’s impressive start is raising not just the expectations of fans, but the expectations of the team itself as many players are expecting nothing less than a state championship run.

“Our major goal for the season is to, of course, get to the state championship,” James said. “But, we know we will need to to work hard and take every game seriously.”
