Spring MVP: senior Zach Clifford

Boys Varsity Soccer Captain senior Zach Clifford has played soccer for ten years; four of them have been played at the school.

According to Clifford, his goal for this season is to finish successfully, play to the best of his ability for the school and histeammates, and to play for his faith.

 

Q: How long have you been playing soccer and what position do you play?

A: I’ve been playing for about ten years, and I usually play Right Back, but I am playing Center Back this year.

 

Q: How long have you been playing for the school’s varsity team?

A: Since my sophomore year when I was pulled up to varsity.

 

Q: Do you plan to play soccer in college?

A: I am planning to try and walk on to the James Madison University soccer team.

 

Q: How has soccer impacted your life, as well as your time at the school?

A: It’s been awesome. A lot of my good friends have come from the soccer team. I have learned the value of teamwork, what it takes to be a leader, and I have gained more confidence. Cox soccer is such a great program and the team this year has great chemistry.

 

Q: Who’s been your biggest influence/role model for soccer?

A: My dad. He has been a great influence on me throughout my life. He is very supportive and wants to see me excel at everything I do. He has motivated me and has taught me the value of a strong work ethic. My mom has also been a great parent and has taken me to countless tournaments.
