Head Varsity Baseball Coach Matt Ittner honored his players who earned a 4.0 GPA during the first quarter of the school year.
As a ‘pat on the back, ‘ Ittner treated players, both JV and Varsity, to a mini-feast at Shorebreak Pizza & Taphouse. The Falcon Baseball program has historically produced exceptional student-athletes and recognizes that classroom success is just as important as wins on the field.
Junior Jase Ludford has played for the Varsity program for three years and was among the 11 players who were recognized.
“It is a hard balance, but I make it work by consistently completing school work during lunch and making sure I am on top of my homework after practice,” Ludford said. “During the season, it gets tougher; however, I always make sure I am ahead of things before I have fun for myself.”
Ultimately, Coach Ittner’s goal for his players is to excel in the classroom and on the field, and he believes that straight A’s are a priority for athletic success.
