Falcons wrestling ends season with the state tournament
This past weekend, Falcon wrestlers concluded their season at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in the state wrestling tournament. In order to earn a spot, wrestlers from all over the state had to place fourth or higher in the regional tournament in their [respective] weight class. The Falcons sent thirteen out of fourteen starters to the state tournament.
As a team, the Falcon wrestlers placed fifth overall and had seven place-winning wrestlers.
Senior Parker Tillery (157) made it to the finals in his weight class, placing second in the state. Seniors Carter Shupert (144) and Tyler Haley (165) both placed third in their weight classes.
“My ultimate goal was to secure the victory in the championship, but I’m still satisfied with the outcome,” Tillery said.
