What happened: Varsity boy’s wrestling opened their season on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at home. The team took on Kempsville and Norview High Schools in what proved to be a close battle all around. 

Cox vs. Kempsville High School: 44-30      Cox vs. Norview High School: 42-39

Key Players: Juniors Shane Whitney and Colin Bridges led the team to victory, pinning each of their opponents in the first period.

Key moment: During the last match of the night, sophomore Eugene Peterson pinned his opponent in the final round, stealing the win from Norview. 

Up next: The Falcons will take on the Dolphins of Ocean Lakes High School at the Toys-for Tots tournament on Saturday, Dec. 21. Time TBD.
