Falcon varsity boys basketball defeats Kellam Knights, season opener

What happened: Varsity boy’s basketball opened the season on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Kellam High School. After the Knights went on a scoring run in the third quarter, the Falcons entered the fourth determined to make a comeback. By the end of the game, the Falcons brought home the win, defeating Kellam by 10 points.

Key players: Senior Jordan Lewis led the team with 23 points and made some “clutch” free throws that sealed the game. Senior Deshaun Creighton finished with 20 points.

They said it: “Basketball is a game of runs, so we can’t be content with this one win. We have to keep working and getting better [to have a successful season],” senior Tyshaun Creighton said.  

Key moment: At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Falcons overcame a deficit that put them in the win column for the first game of the year.
