TEACHER TEAM STAMPEDE stomped the competition with their custom made white uniforms.

This year’s Powder Puff teacher team, Stampede, came in with higher expectations.

With most of the same faces as last year, teachers Erin Tonelson, Claye Rhea, Jaudon Felch, Raena Weimer, Beth Ann Bell, Guidance Counselor Emily Wilson and Head Coach Bill Stachelski were looking for success with a new name.

Despite only making it to the first round, these ladies came in with much more confidence.

“I feel like we did better, even though we lost. It was more fun and I laughed a lot more. The family rivalry made it more fun,” Felch said

‘Stampede’ played the ‘Blitzing Angels’ in the first round, a team made up of field hockey and soccer players. Junior soccer player Alex Davidson a member of the ‘Blitzing Angels’ was up against some of her teachers and coaches.

“Stampede played a lot better than they did last year,” Davidson said.

The teachers wanted to win. They even went to the extreme of tackling their own students and players. In fact, Rhea managed to break her toe tackling freshman Ryanne Davidson in the first play of the game.

“I don’t like to lose, especially to my own players,” Rhea said.

Even though the teachers changed their name, they still ended with the same outcome. A loss in the first round.

“We wanted to improve on our performance last year. We really came together as a team, but the weather really caught us off guard,” Stachelski said.
