“Over the past four years, the CHS lacrosse program has not only improved me as a player, but also shaped me as a person. Coming into high school, I wasn’t anything special and didn’t even try out for varsity. But with the support of my teammates and coaches, I developed my skills and eventually became a full-time starter. Beyond the field, CHS lacrosse introduced me to some of my closest friends and helped me grow and mature. As an underclassman, the seniors had a huge impact on how I approached both the game and life. Learning from them gave me not only better lacrosse skills but also a valuable perspective that I carried with me in the years that followed. Without this program, I would be a very different person, and I’m grateful for everything it has given me. As I prepare to graduate, I hope I’ve made a positive impact on the younger players. I want my legacy to be more than just stats; I want it to be about building a strong culture and setting a high standard. I hope to be a positive example for the next generation. Our program has a high ceiling, and my goal has been to help push it even higher. This season, we’ve focused on holding each other accountable to build respect and trust within the team. I’ve worked to increase the intensity at practices so that future players understand the importance of taking every rep seriously. Long after I graduate, I hope the standard I helped establish becomes the expectation for every player who joins the program. Being a captain is both rewarding and exhausting. Before, I only had to focus on my own performance. Now, I feel the weight of every missed opportunity and every drop in intensity. There’s pressure to lead and to make plays—but it’s a responsibility I’ve always wanted, and one I take pride in. In many ways, I feel like an architect. I’m not just playing the game—I’m helping build the foundation for what this program will become in the future.”
