Alumnus Chris Penny: ACC and NCAA wrestling champ
Virginia Tech senior and 2009 Cox HS alum Chris Penny was recently named this year’s ACC Wresting Champion at 197 pounds.
In addition to Penny’s accolade, he also earned sixth place in his weight class[197 pound] overall, becoming an NCAA All-American. Only the top eight wrestlers in the country can earn this NCAA distinction.
Penny’s accomplishments, his dedication and committment to excellence both academically and athletically, serve as inspiration to other young athletes who also strive to become collegiate and national level athletes.
