Q & A: senior Jahlil Lowe
Q: After tearing your ACL did you think you’d ever play football again?
“I knew I was going to play football again, I just didn’t know at what level. After my injury a lot of the schools I was talking to stopped talking to me. I just thought I was going to have to go another route other than college football.”
Q: How has your injury changed you as a person / athlete?
“It made me realize that you can’t take anything for granted, because something like this can end your career.”
Q: Who or what was your greatest inspiration to persevere through your injury?
“Seeing Adrian Peterson come back from the same injury as quickly as he did, and still being able to play at such a high level made me realize I can do it too.”
Q: How has the recruiting process changed sense you got hurt?
” After I hurt myself most of the colleges that had interest me stopped contacting me, but some smaller schools like Chowan kept interest.”
Q: Why did you choose Chowan University?
” They were talking to me for awhile but didn’t have enough money to offer me at first. They’re D-line coach wanted me, though, so they came back and offered me. I knew right there that’s where I wanted to go.”
