Doyon wins Daughters of the Revolution award

Junior Sydney Doyon was recently selected as an Outstanding American History student by the National Society of the Daughters of American Revolution chapters in Virginia Beach.

Each high school was given the opportunity to designate one student who met the award criteria; a student who continuously shows academic excellence, indicates an interest in a career related to the military, and participates in community activities that support the American way of life.

Doyon was initially chosen by her AP American History teacher Mark Girard.

As February is designated American History month, Doyon will receive her award at a ceremony held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 22, in the Board Room of School Administration Building 8.
