Q & A: Jordan Williams

Varsity football defensive end junior Jordan Williams has his mind set on college. He already has 27 offers from schools across the country and is looking forward to adding more to his list this upcoming football season. Following is an interview about his college search so far.

Q: How does it feel to be a junior and already have offers from D1 schools?

A: “It’s definitely a blessing to be a part of the process and to know that my parents won’t have to worry about paying for me to go to college.”

Q: Is going through this process hard?

A: “Yes, going through this process is hard and stressful. Having to live a regular high school student life, focus on doing great in school, and travel to all these colleges to meet all of these coaches is not easy at all.”

Q: Why did you pick football over basketball?

A: “I picked football over basketball, because football gave me more opportunities to get more offers and play at the next level, which is college football. Also, I just love football more than basketball”.

Q: What are the top schools you want to attend?

A: “My top schools right now are the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, University of South Carolina, Clemson University, University of Notre Dame, Tennessee, University of Alabama and Michigan State.”

Q: What’s the best game you’ve ever had in your football career?

A: “The first game this year against Bayside. That game itself received a lot of attention from colleges and coaches. I had 7 sacks, 3 batted balls, and 4 tackles. That game allowed me to get more offers.”

Q: Who motivates you?

A: “My grandmother. She was really sick in the hospital and she just kept fighting and fighting until she sadly pasted away. She never quit or gave up, so that’s why I don’t give up, I just try to do my best to make her proud.”

A: What do you look for when you attend a college tour?

Q: “Great academics for what I want to study, which is sports medicine and physical therapy. Also I want the college that I’m attending to have a great football program to help me make to the next level which is the NFL.”
