Leadership roundup provides students insight into annual spring event

CHS Leadership Workshop hosted their roundup event last week in hope of drawing in students to create a record attendance of delegates for the spring event. Roundup includes an introduction to the counselors with a skit that hints at a fun-filled weekend, while providing the students with information on the packed schedule.

Workshop staff is composed of experienced upperclassmen, who share their knowledge with younger students involved. The staff’s mission is to help underclassmen build leadership skills and, most importantly, make connections with their peers outside of the classroom. The student-led weekend is full of leadership-based games and fun activities for the younger students to demonstrate a leader’s best skills and qualities.

This year’s CHS Leadership Workshop will be held at YMCA Camp Silver Beach on the Eastern Shore on the weekend of March 22-24. Leadership Workshop has undoubtedly become one of the longest-standing traditions at the school and each year draws in some of the best and brightest students who strive to one day become leaders.

“ Roundup is great because it gives us a preview of just how awesome Leadership Workshop is,” Leadership Workshop Director senior Michael Barreiro said.

Applications will be due by Friday, February 16, in Room 134.

Junior Journalism III student, Editor in Chief Being an editor for Falcon Press News is very important to me. Not only does it require me branch out of my comfort zone, but also learn about and meet new people. Many kids do not receive the recognition they deserve, and seeing the look on their face when I tell them I want to feature them is very rewarding.
