Key Club, the Got Sole Project

KeyClub has once again partnered with The Got Sole Project, a private non-profit organization that collects shoes for  migrant workers and the homeless in the Eastern Shore and Hampton Roads area. The project’s volunteers and Key Club members are collecting gently used shoes in room 227 until Friday, Feb. 2 with the help of the students at the school.

Although Key Club partners with them annually, The Got Sole Project itself is ongoing throughout the year, taking in donations and offering volunteer work year round.

According to the official website, The Got Sole Project’s mission is to, “offer faith, love, and hope through shoes,” they are able to carry out their mission with the help of volunteers and kind individuals such as Key Club members.

Junior Rebecca Ka, an avid member of the club and strong believer in The Got Sole Project donates her time and a pair of shoes to the organization each year.

“Donating shoes to the community makes it a better place, and the underprivileged families in the area who receive the shoes are eternally grateful,” Ka said.
