FIRST COLONIAL STUDENT Tess Henry recently won the annual Beach Idol competition.

Last Friday night, twelve competitors took to the stage to demonstrate their musical ability in the ninth annual Beach Idol competition, yet another “friendly” rivalry between the Falcons and Patriots of First Colonial (FC).

This time, however, the two schools came together in benefit of Operation Smile. As part of the competition, each contestant was introduced with a brief video before performing a rendition of a song of their choice. From a Prom proposal to an offer for an introduction to Broadway, the night proved heated for the audience and competitors.

And, although talent was in abundant supply, by the end of the night FC’s Tess Henry came out on top.

“Competitions like these mean everything to me. I’ve been singing since I was three-years-old and taking the stage tonight was an honor,” Henry said.
