Government students travel to inauguration
In 2009, 1.8 Million Americans crowded the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to witness President Barack Obama’s second inauguration, a record attendance.
Among them were students taking part in the inauguration trip, a tradition for the school’s Government classes, giving them a unique opportunity to become a part of history.
This year, as President-Elect Donald Trump prepares to take his oath, Government teachers Mrs. Janson and Mrs. Torrence lead another group of students to the nation’s capitol to witness the inauguration and the festivities that ensue.
The group left on Thursday, Jan. 19, in hopes of beating the massive amounts of traffic expected in Washington D.C. and plans to return on Sunday, Jan. 22.
