How-to: publish a short story
Welcome to the world of How-To:
The first installment in this series is “HOW-TO PUBLISH A STORY”.
Getting a short story published is difficult, but not impossible. For those students who love to write and aren’t quite sure what steps to take after creating a story, the following guidelines are for you.
- Choose a literary magazine that is appealing and find what are necessary for short story submissions.
- Tips to Remember: There will be an application fee. Editors don’t generally read the entire submitted story, so make sure the introduction is creative and interesting.
- Write and edit the story.
- Be sure to fill out and sign all copyright information.
- Contributing writers cannot be paid unless all information is filled out clearly and correctly.
- Enjoy the process and write more.
