Journalism: time to turn up recruitment
Any students in Honors English 9, 10, or 11 can sign up for the 2015-2016 Journalism 1 class.
During a student’s first year in Journalism, they are considered a “J1.” They learn to write different types of journalistic style stories, as well as photography, videography, and interviewing skills. As a J1, students will be considered Falcon Press Newspaper staff members and reporters/editors-in-training. Also, J1’s are involved in the Falcon Press social media sites, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
After first year, students may become”J2’s.” J2’s help run the paper by uploading stories online, overseeing J1’s, and running social media sites.
Journalism is a great way to get involved in school life.
To sign up for the class, students should go to the Guidance Office or see the Newspaper Adviser Ms. Tonelson in Room 220 with any questions.
