The Noble Teens, a service club sponsored by US History teacher Mark Girard, continued their annual tradition of collecting toys for their parent service organization the Noblemen of Virginia Beach Toy Drive.

The Noblemen organizations is a locally based service organization that branches into the greater Hampton Roads area.  Sponsoring events throughout the year such as the Toy Drive to help give back to the community.

Senior Adam Suave is an active member of the Noble Teens and has participated in the Toy Drive for the past few years.

“The Toy Drive is great for the community and it is practice for anyone who might want to join the Noblemen,” Suave said.

This year, with the help of the whole school, the Noble Teens were able to raise 326 toys and 27 gift cards, a cash value of $340.

“The goal this year was 315 and we beat it.  These kids [Noble Teens] and the entire school worked hard to help reach our goal,” Girard said. “Teachers and administration were very helpful too.”

Some teachers allowed their rooms to be drop of centers for toys, while others gave out extra credit to students for bringing in toys.

Sophomore Shaun McGovern is another member of the Noble Teens and also helped the organization collect and ultimately distribute toys.

“It’s great to give back to the community, especially this time of year,” McGovern said.
