Warrior’s Grill in Virginia Beach is a popular spot for anyone who loves the freedom to create their own meal. Located off Independence Boulevard, the restaurant is a buffet-style setup where customers can fill a bowl with meats, vegetables, noodles, and sauces before handing it off to the chefs. The chefs cook everything on a large circular grill; the sizzling sound alone is enough to make you want to eat for two.
The interior of Warrior’s Grill is simple and clean, with ample space for families and groups. It’s not a ‘fancy’, dress-up atmosphere, but definitely on the more casual side of life. The buffet offers a variety of meats, including chicken, steak, pork, shrimp, lamb, and tofu, along with a wide selection of vegetables and noodles.
The sauce bar is where meals are truly created, offering options such as teriyaki, garlic, sesame, and spicy chilli that make the bowls palatable and pleasing to anyone’s taste buds.
Sophomore Trey “Voodoo” Miller is a regular at Warrior’s Grill; he knows the food, the staff, and the prices.
According to Miller, it’s important to load the bowl of choice with the mouthwatering Mongolian sauce for maximum taste. He also keeps going back because the costs are reasonable.
The rest of the review crew, seniors Jacob Palmerton, Zane Perry, and Rex Miller, along with junior Hunter Tromly, tested a variety of combinations. Their bowls included steak, chicken, lamb, noodles, fresh vegetables, and plenty of different sauces.
“The combinations are endless, you can choose whatever you want, it’s a chill place to go with friends, and you don’t really have to wait long before eating, ” Tromly said. “It’s a win-win.”
There is a sneaky, yet powerful, pineapple side dish that seemingly flies under the radar, but adds an explosion of flavor. The crew also tried the egg drop soup from the buffet line and were not disappointed.
Overall, the group agreed that Warrior’s Grill offers fresh ingredients, fast service, and an enjoyable experience that keeps people coming back.
It’s easy to see why locals return time after time; it’s quick, customizable, and consistently good. Whatever the customer’s food mood, whether something healthy or some carb-loaded noodles and sauce, the choices are vast.
