Lady Falcons Field Hockey is known for its numerous state title wins, some seasons seemingly effortless. This season offers a talented but young team, which has its pros and cons.
An older team brings the advantage of experienced players, while a younger team offers raw talent and a strong willingness to learn. Falcon field hockey, however, is more than just a team—it is an institution. Anyone who becomes part of it should feel the weight of its honor and the strength of its tradition.
The girls have faced their share of ups and downs this season, but the younger players have brought a spark of energy that continues to push the team forward. Their enthusiasm and drive, combined with the steady leadership of the veterans, have created a balance of raw talent and seasoned experience. Together, they’ve built a resilient squad that reflects both the tradition of Falcon field hockey and the promise of its future.
Most recently, the girls defeated the Kellam Knights in a close 2-0 game. Sophomores Bella Glenn and Lilly Schrott stepped up to secure the win.
“It was a good win. We have been away for the last couple of games, so it felt good to be back on our home turf,” Schrott said.
Glenn assisted Schrott with her goal, and junior Bella Terry racked up an assist as well. The Falcons played tough defense, which ultimately shut down the Knights.
The Falcons’ slate for next week includes an away game at Ocean Lakes on Tuesday, October 7, and a game against Great Bridge High School at the Regional Training Center (RTC) on Thursday, October 9.
