In what should have been a nail-biter game, it turned into a monumental upset. The Lady Falcon volleyball players left it on the court, squashing rival First Colonial in three straight sets.
What Happened: The girls’ volleyball team beat the Patriots of First Colonial in a 3-0 win, moving them to a 4-0 record to date.
Key Players: Sophomore Emma Piccola and senior captains Camdyn Milisitz and Kathleen Grosz all contributed nine kills each, assisting the Falcons’ offense as they soared to victory.
They Said It: “It felt great beating F.C. after losing to them in the playoffs last year,” Gros said. “We are looking forward to beating them again down the road,” junior Caroline Butkovich said.
Key Moment: After an initial setback in the first set, the Falcons, who were losing 8-0 came back with ten straight points, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Up Next: The girls will face off at Norfolk Academy against the Bulldogs on Friday, September 5, at 5 pm.
