CHS welcomes a new season of Boys Varsity Falcon soccer. The team returns to the pitch, fresh off their state championship win last season. After graduating a starting line-up comprised mostly of seniors, the team is in a rebuilding phase with younger players and only five seniors. Three returning varsity players, junior Nate Wallace, and sophomores Hunter Tromly and Chris Prettyman answered pressing questions for this season.
Q: What are your expectations this season, after winning the state championship last season?
A: “We lost a lot of seniors, so we need to find more leadership. This is a rebuilding year, but we still have quality players,” Wallace said.
Q: What is a favorite memory the team still shares?
A: “Bus rides home after a win. The energy is always high after a win,” Prettyman said.
Q: What do you think your biggest skill is on the pitch?
A: “I can slip the ball through anyone’s legs quickly and keep moving up the field,” Tromly said.
Q: How do you handle pressure during a match?
A: “Just take a deep breath and get hype. Match the pressure with energy,” Wallace said.
Q: Does the team have any pre-game rituals?
A: “No, but we have a post game ritual of drinking chocolate milk after any win, loss, or tie,” Wallace said.
Q: What do you love most about playing on the team?
A: “Becoming a better player and developing my skills; I want to be leader n the team,” Tromly said.
Q: What school would you say is the biggest threat?
A: ” Definitely the Kellam Knights, ” Wallace, Tromly, and Pretttyman said.
Q: What sets our school apart from other teams?
A: “We have more grit and passion than anybody else. As a younger team we will only be better,” Wallace said.
Q: How do you relax after a big game?
A: “Just shower and go to bed,” Tromly said.

A: “Big things will come with time,” Wallace said.
