Seniors Blake Heselius, Max Palmerton, Christian Braithwaite, and junior Jacob Palmerton went to one of the Palmerton brothers’ favorite spots, Craft Burger Bar, located on Shore Drive. The restaurant is known for its Wagyu beef burgers which are revered as the best in Virginia Beach.
Upon entering the restaurant, you immediately a more peaceful, down to earth vibe. It has a tavern-like setting with intricate woodwork everywhere. The lights are dimmed, there are several TVs surrounding the walls and a massive bar right in front of the kitchen. The restaurant/bar setting is trendy, as many people come in to try their assortment of bourbons and whiskeys, then top off the taste with a scrumptious Wagyu beef burger.
The restaurant is known for its not only its burgers, but also its traditional American cuisine. The obvious favorites of the restaurant are the oversized burger selection, but they have other entrees to offer with a complete menu. They offer Vegan burgers, sandwiches, their famous BIG DOGS and BRAT’S, loaded nachos, sweet potato fries, and mac and cheese, just to name a few. What makes Craft special though is that many “specialized” restaurants usually lack other items that aren’t as “delicious”, but the alternative food options offered are as good as their burgers.
All four expert reviewers ordered the “fat” burgers, but in different variations. Braithwaite and M. Palmerton ordered bacon burgers with tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and pickles. The pair loved the flavor-packed burger, rating it 9+ making this food one of the highest-rated items of the year.
Heselius and J. Palmerton both ordered the “Mac Daddy”, one of their specialty items that is loaded with mac and cheese. J. Palmerton added bacon to his burger as the option to customize food is available for a small charge. The two rated the burgers 9+ on the review scale as well. Overall, the group’s favorite parts of the burger was the melt in your mouth flavor of the beef.
Craft Burger Bar lives up to its hype. Not only does it have great food, but a fantastic environment that balances the family/fun aspect. Not to mention, the food is out of this world and can satisfy a wide range of taste buds. This is a must-try restaurant in Virginia Beach and has become one of the highest-rated reviews yet.
