The Falcons have started the year strong with a 4-1 record after a recent win over Kellam High School at their Homecoming last week, 42-0. And, the team has dominated away games, holding a 3-0 record.
At the same time, the boys currently hold a 1-1 record at home, losing to the Stallions of Green Run High School. Yet, the Falcons have not backed down, have taken the loss in stride and have shown outstanding potential for a region final push.
Currently wins include Landstown, Bayside, First Colonial, and Kellam High schools, outscoring opponents 169-9 in these games with a quick-paced offense and an impenetrable defense. The Falcons currently rank in the top 20 in the 5A region, and they continue to slowly move up the ranks with their goal of a state playoff birth.
“We’ve had a solid start to the season, probably the best I have been a part of, but to attain our goals, we must keep this going,” senior captain Hudson Bartley said.
Another senior captain this season is senior Max Palmerton, who has also proven vital to the Falcons’ success as both a quarterback and a defensive linebacker, giving him insight on both sides of the ball.
“This is the tightest-knit team that I have been a part of. We have outstanding chemistry, and it is shown on the field. We expect to keep this going to make a playoff push late into November,” Palmerton said.
The Falcons will take on the Dolphins of Ocean Lakes on Friday, October 4, where they plan to continue their push for the playoffs.
