The Falcons varsity football team is off to a hot start after winning their first two games and outscoring their opponents 85-9. This past week the Falcons played the Marlins of Bayside High School.
The game was played this past Friday, September 6, under the lights on their home field. The home team had a mediocre first half and came out firing on all cylinders to redeem themselves. The defense intensified its effort when they kept the Marlins from scoring, while the offense took over helping to extend their lead, which resulted in a 47-9 victory.
Senior quarterback Max Palmerton and sophomore running back Tyre Jefferies combined for four touchdowns and over 200 rushing yards leading the Falcons on offense. The defense forced six turnovers while also making a pivotal stop against Bayside on their own three-yard line, shifting the momentum of the game.
“We kept the same mentality and we cleaned up the mistakes from the first half, so it showed in the second half,” Palmerton said.
Their next game is scheduled this Friday, September 13, on the road at 7 p.m. ,where they will take on the Patriots of First Colonial.
