Costa Rica soccer equipment donation, provides for less fortunate

Falcon Varsity Soccer player junior Grayson Brazukas partnered with the nonprofit organization ‘Tacos for Ticos’ to donate new and used soccer equipment to Costa Rican children ranging in age from elementary to high school players.

Brazukas plans to travel to Costa Rica in January, not only looking forward to a fun vacation, but also to hand-deliver all the equipment that has been donated. Brazukas realized that many young athletes share his love of soccer. He and his family also noticed several competitive teams still need critical equipment, such as cleats and shinguards, which young athletes take for granted in the U.S.

The opportunity to receive much-needed supplies is a “win” for the kids, as they can access equipment that would otherwise be too costly for the league and their families.

“I plan to make a difference through the sport that I enjoy the most,” Brazukas said. “The goal is to help kids worldwide achieve dreams and enable them to feel special.”

The donated equipment totaled around three hundred items, ranging from cleats, jerseys, backpacks, balls, and shin guards. The ‘Tacos for Ticos’ organization shared their enthusiasm, and were also thankful to all who helped the cause.
