Gymnastics grabs wins, losses
What Happened: Varsity gymnastics competed against Ocean Lakes (OL) and Princess Anne (PA) High Schools at the OL gymnasium last week, after a previous win against Landstown (LHS) High School who was also in attendance. Although the Falcons didn’t take the all around win, they did make their presence known.
Key Players: Freshman Delaney McConnell placed 4th all around, while junior co-captain Grace Nicosia took 2nd place on the vault for the team.
Quote: “Overall we have some general things to work on, especially because we didn’t have a season last year due to the pandemic,” junior captain Peyton Wilson said. “But, our ultimate goal is to make it to states.”
Key Moment: Every competing member of the team made a difference, boosting morale which, according to Wilson proved to be significant, and will hopefully lead to the team’s overall success.
Next Up: Varsity gymnastics will compete against Bayside, First Colonial, Kempsville, and Princess Anne High Schools on Thursday, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.
