Boys varsity basketball start off season slow
What happened: Boys varsity basketball played the Bayside High School Marlins last Friday at home. The Falcons competed with the Marlins right until the end but lost in overtime with a score of 56 to 53.
Key player: Sophomore center Ben Nacey had an impressive performance against the Marlins, scoring a total of 14 points. He led the Falcons to such into the overtime game.
Quote: “Next week it is crucial for us to improve on the small things like ball handling and defense. As a team, we need to work some things out but I am looking forward to our next game,” junior Nate Harrington said.
Key moment: A significant moment of the game was when junior Ray Jackson finished two three-pointers to put the Falcons into overtime. It was an intense and well-deserved moment for the entire team.
