Sports during Covid Pandemic.

Questions and answer with Brooklyn Williams.

Brooklyn Williams is a student at Cox High School. Williams is a junior at the school and also runs track. With things being different due to Covid she has noticed changes in some ares in her sport.

Q:How long have you been participating in sports?

A:“I started doing sports in middle schoolboy when I was younger I did Ballet.”

Q:How long have you. been running track?

A:“Ive been running Track since 6th grade.”

Q:What other sports do you participate in?

A:“Besides indoor and outdoor the only other sport I do is Step but that has really taken a pause because of Covid.”

Q: What is your favorite sport?

A:“My favorite sport is probably Dance just because you can be so creative with it.”

Q:What do you like about Track that differs from other sports?

A:I “like Track because it’s a independent sport but at the same time there is certain events that require teamwork and we do get scored overall as a team.”

Q:How do you get ready for a meet?

A: “The day before a meet I only drink water, ice my legs, and try to get a goodnight sleep.”

Q:What are meets like now?

A:“Meets are smaller now and we’re not allowed to have any guest but other than that it’s just having to wear mask and social distance.”

Q:What is practice like?

A: “It’s the same besides the fact we have to wear and get screened and that’s where a trainer ask us if we had symptoms of covid and takes out temperatures and we have to get screened for meets too.”

Q:How has Track changed since having to deal with Covid?

A:“Since Covid the meets have been smaller and not having a audience is a little sad not going to lie but at least we where able to participate.”

Q:What do you hope for moving forward?

A:“I hope that soon we’ll be able to have guests and be able to have bigger team again.”

Q:Do you believe Covid has changed your performance?

A:“To an extent yes, just because sometimes I have to run with a mask on and loss of motivation just because this is new normal for now.”
