Falcon Stage Company preps for Thespian Honor Society inductions

It’s a wrap!

Falcon Stage Company, born from the school’s theater classes, is now holding spots for students who would like to become a Thespian. Forms for inductees will be out in early spring for any students who are interested.

Becoming a Thespian means one will be inducted into the International Thespian Society (ITS), which includes students who are interested in becoming involved in the Theater Arts more extraneously. Also, student thespians have many opportunities that are included outside of the classroom, such as workshops, leadership opportunities, etc.

Senior Abigail Brown is currently a member of the ITS, and is considered a mentor to new inductees.

“Becoming a Thespian was one of the most prominent high school experiences that I can remember,” Brown said. “This was important to me because I got to feel the fulfillment of working hard to become a part of a group.”

As well as a variety of other activities, Thespian inductions will be held after students’ Spring Break holiday in which all current thespians and upcoming thespians participate.

Theater teacher Michelle Machay is the Thespian Society sponsor and has been involved in the program for over 10 years.

“The mantra I teach at Falcon Stage Company and in my classes is to find your tribe and love them hard. Being a member of the Thespian Honor Society doesn’t just allow us to find our local tribe since it’s an international society with troupes and chapters around the world, but we get to make connections with our tribe globally, bonded by our passion and love for theatre and our mission to tell the human story,” Machay said. “I think it’s an amazing opportunity for young artists to realize we are all part of something extraordinary.”

Announcements for the Falcon Stage Company can be found on the Instagram or Face Book page. Information can also be found in the school announcements, generally played during 3rd block advisory classes, and is also located in Schoology.
