Chick’s brings bites from the bay

Whether it’s a clear, spring day, or a multicolored summer sunset, Chick’s Oyster Bar located off of Shore Drive, gives patrons a beautiful view of the Lynnhaven Inlet, creating an atmosphere that is unparalleled in Virginia Beach. Locals and tourists alike have found this seafood hot spot filled to the brim with good food and an energetic and welcoming staff.

Chick’s Oyster Bar has continuously supported the community throughout its various fundraisers and charitable giveaways. Since its establishment, Chick’s has been a consistent donor for many military foundations, such as The Wounded Warrior Project, The Valor Run Marathon, and Virginia Beach Fallen Heroes. Chick’s also supports many other organizations such as the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, where volunteers recycle oyster shells from the restaurant to replenish the local oyster beds.

Chick’s also features a variety of seating options including: indoor seating, a covered patio, and an outdoor deck to accommodate any weather and any season. Now, there is even a “sand-bar”, where customers can literally walk across a mini-beach to reach the private oasis right by the water’s edge. Inside the original part of the restaurant is a nautical theme, covered in its early days decor.  As the restaurant branched out, more pictures of family, friends and staff were added to the walls, as well as a wall dedicated to military who unfortunately and tragically lost their lives fighting for our freedom, but at one point in time frequented the establishment.

Equip with large open windows with rain shields,  the view is kept in and the rain kept out. The restaurant is also suited to accommodate larger parties and plays host to private events and fundraisers.

“I absolutely love working at Chick’s because the people I work with are so sweet and positive everyday! It’s such a fun work environment, especially over the summer. There’s nothing like work while watching the sunset over the water, ” hostess and senior Lexi Hedrick said.
