How to: giving thanks, accept compliments

There is a common misconception that one can only show gratitude and give thanks within the month of November as the month is generally focused around the Thanksgiving holiday. And, although this time of year can be a positive reminder of the many things we have, giving thanks should be practiced year round.

Furthermore, giving thanks, expressing gratitude and offering positive compliments does not only benefit others, but can also benefit oneself.

According to an article in Harvard Health Publishing, positive psychology research reveals that showing gratitude regularly is directly associated with greater happiness.

In order to show peers that they matter and we are thankful for them, students captured their peers’ raw reactions to compliments to reveal how simple positive affirmations can brighten a person’s day.
