Boys Volleyball continues winning streak, beats First Colonial
Falcon Boys Volleyball took a tough loss against the Kellam Knights in their first showing of the season, losing in three straight sets. But the boys quickly recovered and dominated their next three games, including defeating long-time rival, the First Colonial (F.C.) Patriots to earn a 2nd place seed in the conference.
What Happened : Falcons boys faced off against opponent the First Colonial Patriots earlier in the week, sweeping the first set 25 – 17, then continued to maintain a powerful offense throughout the second set (25 – 18) and the third set (25 – 15).
Key Players : Sophomore Chris Peters led the team with a total of ten kills while junior Jason Wang added another eight kills. And, junior Casey Cool controlled the back row with 15 digs.
They said it : “The team started out strong and kept on them [Patriots] throughout the game,” senior captain Tanner Bailey said. “I was also really proud of one of our junior middle, Logan Keenan, for playing so well after injuring his ankle last week.”
Key moment : Falcons score the final game point against F.C. to win the game in three quick sets.
