Falcon varsity football wins back-to back season openers

Falcon boys varsity football has ‘left it all on the field’ beginning their run with a 2-0 record.

The boys took their first win from the Marlins of Bayside High School (BHS)in the season opener by a score of 49-28, a game in which many fans were skeptical, as last season’s game against BHS sent several of our players off the field on stretchers.

Then, the Falcons added another win to their record shutting out the Comets of Granby High School by a landslide score of 45-0.

Senior co-captain Jackson Morgan, along with other co-captains Cullen Lyons and Jeremy Herslow remain optimistic about the season ahead, realizing that in order to achieve success on the field, every player needs to remain focused.

“Humility, discipline, and hard work is what’s going to keep us going throughout the season. We need everyone to play like it’s their last game, every game, to get the best out of our players,” Morgan said.

Furthermore, it is senior co-captain and quarterback Tayvion Robinson, who recently committed to Virginia Tech, not only calls the plays, but leads the Falcons thus far in touchdowns.

“We have a solid team with players in every position. I think if we can keep our play up, we can make a run this year,” Robinson said.
