VTFT and teacher appreciation in the spotlight

In honor of the approaching Teacher Appreciation week, VBCPS Media Specialist Heather Allen followed Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow (VTfT) students senior Tara LaRusso and junior Taylor Schoolar around John B. Dey Elementary School to capture the last day of their teaching internships for the vbschools.com website. As a part of VTfT curriculum and to receive credit, second year students must complete a teaching internship during the school year at a local elementary school. On the last day of her internship, junior Taylor Schoolar made paper plate awards for her students and had an award ceremony with the class. “I enjoyed seeing my class every other day and their excitement for school, the excitement the have you don’t see inside a high school, so it’s a great break during the day!” Schoolar said.
