First “Falcon Forty”
The first ever “Falcon Forty” Advisory Block complete with an adjusted schedule happened this morning from 8:40-9:20. In order to plan and coordinate this event, an Advisory Teacher Committee was developed not only to design session activities, but to build spirit and community within the school setting.
The plan for today was for students to first meet their Advisory Block teacher and to meet their peers. Then, all freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes were to meet on the practice football field to form “COX 2018” with their bodies. Finally, all students posed for a grand picture to not only put it in our yearbook, but to create memories.
The freshman were asked to create the “C”, sophomores were the “O”, juniors were the “X”, and finally the graduating seniors formed the “2018”; all while a drone flew overhead capturing the collaboration between teachers and students.
To wrap up the first assembly and the first “Falcon Forty,” P.E. teacher Mr. DiNardo shouted his famous “I AM” speech from above the field.
Junior Jensen O’Neil was just one of the students who attended the advisory block event.
“It was definitely fun seeing everyone out on the field and the idea of the picture was pretty cool. I like the changes Dr. Kelly is making,” O’Neil said.
