Alumnus turned Olympian Stefanie Fee leads the pack
The band led student athletes through the hallways last week; a Spirit Walk in honor of fall sports state and conference champions. This time, however, the procession of excellence was led by former school alumnus and Olympic Field Hockey player Stefanie Fee.
Fee was a three sport athlete at the school and graduated in 2008, going on to play field hockey at Duke University. Her motivation, perseverance, and overall drive for success, propelled her to the United States National team, and finally to this year’s summer Olympics in Rio.
Although the US Women’s Field Hockey placed fifth in Rio, Fee battled the best in the world, an experience she won’t soon forget. Now, as a coach in Maryland, she uses her experience both on and off the field to keep her players on the right track.
“I’ve reached the pinnacle of my sport,” Fee said. “Now, I can use my knowledge to keep my players driven and grounded, always looking forward to bigger and better opportunities.”
