VIRGINIA BEACH CITY public school alumni Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo cover their hearts during the playing of the national anthem. Williams and Hugo decided to start a annual music festival in Virginia Beach to showcase how amazing the city is.

CELEBRITIES POSE IN front of the crowd gathered at The Battle of the Bands. Something in the Water has gathered the attention of many famous icons and some have already flown in for the festival.

RECORDING ARTIST PUSHA T made an appearance to get students excited for Something in the Water. Pusha T is very passionate about this festival because he grew up in Norfolk, VA and knows how much potential Virginia Beach has.

THE BRAND NEW stage set for band members to play music to commemorate the grand opening of the Wing. The stage was built to host different events, speakers, and celebrations.

MEMBERS OF THE Cox High School Jazz Band perform at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Wing. The jazz band, as well as the marching band, has won many awards in the last few years.

STUDENTS POSE NEXT to the thermometer showing that they have reached their goal of making 1,600 bagged lunches. Students from all grade levels came together to make bagged lunches for the homeless.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS HELP make sandwiches to donate to Union Mission Ministries. The goal was to make 1,600 sandwiches and the students rose to challenge in less than 25 minutes.

SOPHOMORE BARRETT FOSTER and junior Riley Rawls attend #lunchbag. They helped the school make sandwiches for people in need.
