Fine arts entertain for holidays

To recognize the upcoming holidays, the school’s Fine Arts department held their winter concerts within the three weeks before holiday break.

Chorus

Falcon Chorus held their concert on Thursday, Dec. 5, and is combined of Mixed Chorus and Madrigals, both of which contain members of the 2020 District Chorus. The chorus performed multiple holiday songs including “Hanukkah Song” by Jill Gallina and “Believe” from The Polar Express. There were also many solo performers including junior Brooke Schroeder and senior Karah Morgan.

“I loved having a solo for this concert. The program had a lot of my favorite holiday classics and I like to show off my talent when people are willing to listen,” says Schroeder.

Orchestra

Cox Orchestra held their winter concert on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The three levels, Beginning, Concert, and Chamber. The orchestra performed holiday classics like “Up on the Housetop”, “Adeste Fideles” by John Francis Wade, and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Some featured soloists included sophomore Timmy Anderson and junior Nathaniel Zang.

“It’s sad to see the beginning of the end of my time at orchestra. It has always been a lot more than music to me and I am reluctant to leave my friends who have become my family over the past four years,” says senior Hannah Wroton.
