Thanksgiving’s giving

November 25, 2015

Office Manager Wendy Matthis kept to the school’s tradition by organizing and collecting items for Thanksgiving baskets to distribute to families in need within our community.

Items were donated by various clubs and teams within the school such as Varsity Cheerleading, Journalism, and Key Club.

Matthis and other members of the faculty and staff realize that during this busy time of the year many in our community are preparing to feast with family and friends in our warm homes, but, unfortunately there are some families that have fallen upon hard times.

“Many are less fortunate than others and do not have the resources. Without even being asked to contribute to this cause, many of Cox HS clubs, teams, and individual students, staff, and parents, willingly made contributions,” Matthis said. “The baskets we filled contained all of the traditional dinner food items, table settings, and decorations. Families were contacted for pick-up and deliveries were set. Per usual, when there is a need in our community Cox HS succeeds.”
