Falcons march to victory

The Marching Falcons recently hosted the 2nd annual Falcon Classic which pulled marching bands from all around Virginia and North Carolina to the school. The event is meant to raise money for the school and generated over $2000 for music students.
The competition hosted 2000 band members from 17 different schools. Marching Band parents and various clubs around the school pitched in to help make this large scale event run smoothly.
Sophomore Tuba player Josh Sissel competed in the event for the second time.
“The spectators and visiting bands completely filled up the home and visitor bleachers,” Sissel said. “The event ran well and the Marching Falcons gave a stellar performance.”
Furthermore, the Marching Falcons just added another accomplishment to its resume, by winning a fourth state title in six years.
The Marching Falcons will continue their run the weekend of Nov. 6- 7 when they head to New Jersey to compete with high school bands from the entire East Coast.
