Ninth grade student Erica Christian finishes a quiz in her fourth block Independent Living class, oblivious to the ‘surprise’ that is about to walk through the classroom door.

Christian’s father has been stationed in Afghanistan for the last eight months, returning home today.  In an emotional reunion for both father and daughter, the elder Christian entered the classroom armed with roses, making a beeline straight to his awestruck daughter.  The two embraced, both in tears.

Definitely a happy homecoming.
